The Beekman Tower, originally the Panhellenic Tower built in 1928, has a rich history. Initially a women-only club and hotel for national Greek-letter sororities, it was opened to all in 1934 as the Beekman Tower. Ophelia, located on the 26th floor, pays homage to this classic New York architecture, designed by John Mead Howells and adorned with sculptures by Rene Paul Chambellan.
